CCC Introduction

The basic design
of CCC mark |
The China Compulsory Certification (CCC) mark is the newest quality and safety mark in People's Republic of China. Since 1989, China has established a safety licensing system, including the CCIB mark and the CCEE "Great Wall" mark (for electrical commodities). In 1990s, lots of international companies exporting into China were required to comply with the double certification systems, redundant testing, and dissimilar treatment of domestic and imported products. However, the CCC mark system merges the reduplicated requirements and replaced the previous certifications with a simple one-stop shopping scheme.
The China's Certification and Accreditation Administration (CNCA) oversees the new standards system, which was developed in response to the requirements of the country's accession to the World Trade Organization. On May 1, 2002 the CCC mark came into effect in accordance with the State General Administration for Quality Supervision and Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China (AQSIQ) and CNCA. The time for implementing and supervising CCC mark was decided on August 1, 2003. Since then, all the products listed in the Compulsory Certification Catalogue must bear the CCC mark issued by the specified certification organization, and attach the CCC label to the product before leaving factory for distribution, importing into the country, or using in other business activities.
